The much loved Classic 198 boat is approximately 40 years old and has been well maintained and refurbished multiple times over this period. The boat is 4.7 metres long and has an 11hp direct drive  inboard Garpen diesel motor with tiller steering. The construction is fibreglass over a solid timber frame, with airtight chambers forming the bench seating on either side, which can accommodate 6 people. A hard shell canopy provides shelter from the weather.

The boat has a current Australian Marine Safety Certificate and can be registered for commercial hire or for private use. The Blueys Boat Hire business has closed and the moorings in Mordialloc Creek (Melbourne) must be vacated by mid January 2024 at the latest. The Mordialloc Creek moorings are managed by the State Government and there is currently a 10+ year waiting list. Following the purchase of Classic 198, the boat must be moored elsewhere or trailered away on your own trailer. This boat weighs 1 tonne and has a 30cm keel therefore the trailer must be configured accordingly.
